Spirit Week

For this project we volunteered for soul dog rescue in the beginning we where told what they do and why then we where asked to help them with there fund raiser, for this we had to find a venue make posters and get everything else needed like prizes if you donated enough. They we went down to the actual facility. After arriving we where given a short speech on why they do what they do then given a list of things to achieve. Then told to get to work.

Some of my biggest takeaways from this project where, firstly we learned that they don’t have the manpower or the funding to improve but they really have made due with what they have. this showed me that they in reality I have a good house and other nonsense and should appreciate my stuff more. I really felt that I should do more things like this it was very rewarding and it was nice to help my community. This project really taught me that it is not that hard to help our community and through hard work and many hands we can achieve amazing things, in this project we cleaned and painted then cleaned and rebuilt two rooms in two days which is amazing. I am always apprehensive when it comes to group projects but this really showed me that maybe i should try harder when it comes to group projects.

I belive our school being a project based school, it helped us be ready  for all the random projects we had to do independently. There where many random projects like the dog and cat room where we were given a task then left to figure it out, without the skills this school has given me i belive i would have been lost. However one thing I thoroughly lacked was good team work skills but through this project I learned that people are not always unhelpful and even know more than I do for some things.

For our spirit week i belive that all of us where very good at time management, in a little over 12 hours we compleated four major projects with minimal directions. For the majority of the days we where there miss. Adams would give us a project and leave us to work in the first day we were able to walk all the dogs clean the cat room and make a new store room. On the second we made a dog room cleaned all the cages and painted the dog room all with just being given a list at the start of the day no matter the task we always finished it quickly and where ready to do the next with lunch as our only break.

My Yousicence results said I was a good artist and could lead or follow. The only way I could connect my YouScience results is the fact that for some of our projects I lead and for others I followed. With the walking cleaning and socializing of the animals I could take charge because of my background in dog breeding. However when we where moving things i needed to allow others to lead me in those projects.

Don’t pick yours just because your friends are picking it find the one that resonates with you. Try something that maybe you want to do in the future or are passionate about. This really can help you learn more about what you want to do in the future take the time to think about it and try your hardest don’t slack off. A few of my friends didn't get the one they wanted because they didn't really try to get them but after were upset that they had to do what they wanted. Another example would be someone in my SW they got my SW but didn’t enjoy it at all, not only did they take the experience away from themselves, but they also took the chance from someone who actually wanted to do ths spirit week.
